Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be in for delivery?
Yes. To make sure items are delivered safe and sound, we offer a signed for delivery service. This means the recipient’s address will need to be occupied and a signature provided upon receipt of the item.
How do I care for my quilt?
To keep your quilt in tiptop condition, we recommend machine washing cold or at a maximum temperature of 30°C. Always use a mild detergent and do not use bleach or detergents containing bleach. Tumble dry your quilt on a low heat setting and avoid heavy abrasion caused by dryer balls. For extra protection, pop your quilt inside a pillowcase before drying. Do not iron your quilt. Do not dry clean. And lastly – give it lots of love!
If an item is out of stock, how long will I have to wait?
Our quilts are handmade and hand printed by specialist craftspeople. We don’t mass produce items, instead we make individual batches to meet demand. We keep each colour in stock, but during peak times we operate a four week waiting list.
Is the whole quilt made from upcycled cotton?
No. Only the top panel is upcycled. Our quilting process requires a continuous length of backing fabric – we therefore use fairly traded organic cotton on the underside as a sustainable alternative.
Why do you only make limited editions of 300?
Using upcycled cotton is a complex process – quantities can fluctuate enormously and supplies are never guaranteed. We work around this by stockpiling enough cotton to make a limited edition, this way we don’t run out of fabric and we keep our quilts exclusive!
What tog rating are your quilts?
Our quilts are approximately 4 togs. We do not recommend our quilts for babies under 12 months due to the risks associated with overheating. Please read our sleep safe guide under product information.
Do you make quilts in bigger sizes?
No. Our quilts are governed by the size of our upcycled cotton panels and maximum print area. This means we can only make toddler quilts, but they can always double as a snuggle blanket if they no longer fit the bed!
